The room was absolutely amazing! It had a private balcony with the most breathtaking bay views. I couldn't get enough of the stunning scenery, it made me feel like I was in paradise. As a budget-conscious traveler, I truly felt like I got the best value for my money.
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the shared courtyard. However, I understand that some people might enjoy the beautiful views it offered.

I recently stayed at Lochmara Lodge for a couple of nights and had an amazing experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and the atmosphere was peaceful and tranquil. The room I stayed in had a big window close to my bed, providing a lovely view. The cafe served delicious food, but I also appreciated having a little fridge and kettle in the room for preparing my own breakfast. The highlight of my stay was the animal experiences, from interacting with birds, parrots, and llamas, to feeding the pigs and watching the glow worm gully. The location was excellent, with the Queen Charlotte track and bay perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. Lochmara Lodge provided a fantastic experience with plenty to do and see.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room at Lochmara Lodge was absolutely amazing! The private balcony with stunning bay views made me feel like I was in paradise. I loved how the units opened up to a shared courtyard with beautiful bay views. It was so peaceful and relaxing, perfect for a getaway. The open-plan room had a porch with beautiful bay views and shared access to a courtyard. It was like having my own little oasis. The chalets were incredible with their great views over the bay. Waking up to that scenery was a dream come true.
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the shared courtyard. But, hey, others might enjoy it.

The location of this lodge was simply breathtaking. Surrounded by nature, with stunning views and plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. The free use of kayaks and paddle boards was a great bonus, and we had so much fun exploring the beautiful waters. Another highlight was the variety of animals we encountered, adding to the unique experience.
The lack of a fridge in our room. It made it difficult to bring our own food and we had to rely heavily on the on-site restaurant, which could be quite pricey.

The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning, right on the waterfront. The view is breathtaking, and there is so much wildlife to see and interact with. Another great aspect is the friendly and accommodating staff. From the moment we arrived, they were welcoming and helpful, providing all the information we needed and even offering to clean and store our bikes. The bar and restaurant staff were lovely to have around, and the food was exceptional.
One drawback is the limited accessibility. The only way to reach the hotel is by boat or walking off Queen Charlotte Track.

As a family with kids, we had a truly magical experience at this unique lodge. the underwater viewing platform was a highlight, allowing us to witness mesmerizing bioluminescence. We also enjoyed stargazing and exploring the glow worm gully, creating unforgettable memories. the location offered stunning views, and our room had a balcony where we could relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings. the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. the lodge had plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, making it an ideal family destination.
Although the room was comfortable and had a balcony, we would have preferred more variety in terms of vegetarian options on the menu.

I had a fabulous relaxing stay at Lochmara Lodge. The serene location was perfect for unwinding and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The staff were lovely and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The sting ray feeding experience was a highlight, and I loved seeing the sea life through the glass bottom boat. The absence of TVs, radio, and newspapers allowed me to fully disconnect and relax. The artificial reef created by the lodge was impressive and added to the marine life diversity in the area.
The only drawback was the lack of tissues in the bathroom, and the burnt coffee could use some improvement.

I absolutely loved my two days at Lochmara Lodge! the location was stunning, surrounded by beautiful bush and artwork. the walk around the property was a highlight, especially with the hammocks and farm animals. the meals in the restaurant were delicious, and the coffee was top-notch. Our Weka Chalet was perfect for our family of four, and the view from the balcony was like a dream. the activities, such as feeding the piglets and visiting the underwater observatory, were so much fun. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the peaceful atmosphere made it a truly tranquil experience. the room had a fridge and kettle, allowing us to prepare our own breakfast if desired. And even though the paddle boards were a bit worn out, they still did the job well and added to the enjoyment. Cons: Nothing to complain about here! 😊.

The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning, with beautiful views and plenty of opportunities for hiking and exploring the surrounding area. the staff were very helpful and friendly, making the stay enjoyable. the meals, although oversized, were of a high standard and the overall cleanliness was commendable.
The internet reception at the hotel was very poor, which was frustrating who needed to stay connected.
